Blackburn vs Brentford Predictions
Brentford have been re-vitalised by the arrival of Lee Carsley but suffered a setback in midweek when they went down to a 2-0 home defeat against high flying Hull City. However with the Tigers now topping the table it was an understandable defeat and nowhere near as concerning as some of their early season results.
Prior to the game they’d won four on the bounce in the league to soar into the top half and as well as looking much more threatening going forward, they only conceded 1 goal in those games which included impressive away wins at Wolves and Charlton.
Blackburn have also picked up a couple of solid results in their last two outings taking 4 points and keeping two clean sheets in away matches at Leeds and Birmingham.
Overall though they have only won 2 of their 8 matches at Ewood Park this season and are 4 points and 3 places below Brentford in 15th. Despite that it is Blackburn who the bookies make as pretty clear favourites to win this game. That seems a little harsh on Brentford, who have beaten sides of Blackburn’s caliber with ease in recent weeks and they look really good value to get a result at 5/6.
It might still be a bit of a gamble backing them to win the game outright though and a draw is perhaps the most likely outcome in this one. No side has recorded more draws than Blackburn’s return of 7 so far this campaign and it probably wouldn’t be seen as too poor a result by either manager here.
Confidence will be reasonably high in both camps and Brentford are normally a positive side even on the road so it should be a relatively decent game. Odds of 11/2 for a 1-1 draw represents perhaps the best value in the correct score market.
