FC Porto To Win To Nil

Reason for tip

Boavista are woefully out of form, having gone ten Primeira Liga matches without a win, and facing a side they have never beaten in 18 attempts – losing 16 in that run – is not going to help them get over their slump. Porto have won nine of their last 11 trips to their hosts to nil and should be backed to do the same again.

FC Porto 2-0

Reason for tip

Boavista have lost four of their last seven games to nil and look unlikely to score in defeat to Porto, who are third in the Primeira Liga and have won two of their last eight away games by a 2-0 score line.

Boavista vs FC Porto Predictions

  • Porto have never lost to Boavista, winning 16 of the previous 18 meetings between the pair
  • The hosts are on a nine-match winless run and have not won at home since September
  • Porto have won to nil in nine of their 11 trips to Boavista

Porto to pick up three points and a clean sheet

It looks set to be another close Primeira Liga season with the typical big four separated by just five points after 15 games, with Porto in third just three points off leaders Sporting Lisbon.

Dragons have struggled on their travels a bit lately, losing three of their last four, however, those defeats came against Barcelona in the Champions League, Estoril in the cup and table-topping Sporting, with this trip to Boavista rating a far easier assignment.

Porto have never lost to their hosts, winning 16 of the previous 18 meetings between the pair, and should be able to get their away form back on track at Estadio do Bessa.

Boavista bound for another frustrating derby

They may get that win with relative ease too, given Boavista are on a nine-match winless run and have been enduring some recent struggles in front of goal.

The hosts have lost to nil in four of their last seven Primeira Liga games and Porto may be about to increase that miserable statistic to five from eight.

Given that Dragons have won nine of their last 11 trips to Boavista whilst keeping a clean sheet and that the aggregate score between the sides in 18 games is 44-5 in favour of Porto, an away win to nil looks extremely likely on Friday.
