Bodo Glimt to Win

Reason for tip

The hosts have won six of their last eight competitive games and they meet a Red Star side who are winless in their last eight Champions League matches. The Eliteserien leaders have been on a fine run in Europe and home form can lead them to another victory.

Bodo Glimt 2-1

Reason for tip

Both teams have scored in five of Bodo/Glimt’s last six contests and goals should feature here, with the hosts scoring at least twice in their last five at home. Back them for a 2-1 victory on Tuesday.

Bodo Glimt vs Crvena Zvezda Predictions

  • Bodo/Glimt have won six of their last eight competitive fixtures
  • Red Star Belgrade are winless in their last eight Champions League matches
  • Both teams have scored in five of Bodo/Glimt’s last six contests

Hosts on the verge of history

Bodo/Glimt have never before qualified for the Champions League but they could take a big step towards the new-look competition with a win over Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday.

It has been a lengthy qualifying campaign for the Norwegian outfit, who have already battled past Latvian side RFS and Poland’s Jagiellonia in the second and third qualifying rounds respectively.

They won those two ties 7-1 and 5-1 on aggregate and, although lacking in terms of major tournament experience, they could also edge Red Star Belgrade.

The visitors are typically a tougher nut to crack on their own patch and may be reliant on the second leg in Serbia at the end of the month.

But as they venture north beyond the Arctic Circle for this encounter, they could be worth opposing against Bodo/Glimt.

Bodo/Glimt have become one of the dominant forces in Norway’s Eliteserien in recent years but have also shown their class in Europe, last season reaching the knockout round playoffs in the Conference League.

In that tie, they held established European side Ajax to draws home and away, losing in extra time of the second leg.

They can hold their own and are worth backing to win, while their slightly permeable defence points to a 2-1 win in the correct score betting.
