Bolton vs Eastleigh Predictions
Bolton Wanderers are in turmoil at the moment. They are staring down the barrel of administration with debts of over £100 million. Fortunately, they were afforded five more weeks to find a buyer on Monday, but their off the field problems aren’t helping the team’s form.
They fell behind to Conference National side Eastleigh thanks to an own goal, and it took until the 87th minute before they could find an equaliser against the semi professional side. The struggling Championship side didn’t even dominate the game, marginally beating Eastleigh in possession and having just one more shot on goal than them.
This disappointing draw has been followed by back to back defeats in the Championship, and they have now won just one of their last 20 matches in all competitions, falling to defeat ten times.
As a result of this torrid form, Bolton lie at the bottom of the Championship with 17 points from their first 27 league matches.
Eastleigh are in a much more favourable position, sitting in 5th position in the Conference National League and aiming for promotion to the Football League.
An FA Cup run would surely boost confidence even more among their players, but there form has hit a bit of a stumbling block in recent weeks.
Eastleigh haven’t won any of their last four matches in all competitions, and they fell to defeat for the first time in nine matches on Saturday as Gateshead knocked them out of the FA Trophy.
Bolton’s problems and their poor performance in Eastleigh has seen the odds of them winning lengthen considerable. But it’s beyond doubt that they have the better quality team, and I think there is a lot of value to be had backing a Bolton win at 17/20, especially since Eastleigh finally lost at the weekend.
