Luton to Win

Reason for tip

Luton are enjoying an exceptional end to the season with eight wins and no defeats in their last 11 games, including an EFL Trophy final success against Stockport. The Hatters realistically need to win on Saturday to sneak into the play-offs and they can at least fulfil their side of the deal by beating Wanderers, who have already locked in their own play-off spot.

Luton 3-1

Reason for tip

Bolton rarely draw a blank at home and Luton have conceded in 13 of their last 15 trips across all competitions. A 3-1 win for the visitors is the pick as Luton have scored more than once in nine of their last 10 games, and there is a chance Wanderers may rest a few key men and they will already have an eye on the play-offs.

Kasey Palmer To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Visiting midfielder Kasey Palmer has eight goals in 19 games since joining Luton on loan from Hull. Four of those have come in his last three games and he looks a strong candidate for a goal at Bolton.

Bolton vs Luton Predictions

  • Luton are unbeaten in 11, with eight wins
  • Luton can catch three of the teams above them with a win
  • Bolton are already in the play-offs

Potential play-off preview at the Toughsheet

Bolton have their place in the League One play-offs secure and they face a Luton side they may come up against during that promotion battle in the final round of fixtures on Saturday.

Luton have to win to stand a realistic chance of breaking into the top six. A draw would be good enough if Stevenage lose, but a victory could see them finish as high as fourth if fortune favours them elsewhere.

Bolton haven’t lost at home in the league since December and ordinarily they’d be the favourites, but Luton are the team in far greater need.

Hatters boss Jack Wilshere, who enjoyed a spell on loan at Bolton in the early stages of his career, has seen his side put together an 11-game unbeaten run with eight wins and they can give themselves the best possible chance of securing a play-off place with three points on Saturday.

Wanderers will already be looking ahead to the play-offs and could be looking to save some energy here, while boss Steven Schumacher may even decide to rest a few players and give the likes of Amario Cozier-Duberry, skipper Eoin Toal, Josh Sheehan and a few others the weekend off.

Bolton rarely draw a blank at home and Luton have conceded in 13 of their last 15 trips across all competitions. A 3-1 win for the visitors is the pick as Luton have scored more than once in nine of their last 10 games, and there is a chance Wanderers may not get out of first gear here.

Visiting midfielder Kasey Palmer has eight goals in 19 games since joining Luton on loan from Hull. Four of those have come in his last three games and he looks a strong candidate for an anytime effort at Bolton.
