Borussia Dortmund Over 2.5 Team Goals

Reason for tip

Borussia Dortmund were beaten 2-1 in last Saturday’s Klassiker but bounced back by beating Copenhagen 4-2 in the Champions League and should rack up the goals again against Cologne, who have conceded three times in two of their three away games this term.

Borussia Dortmund 3-0

Reason for tip

It is hard to look past a Dortmund win given they have won eight and lost none of their last nine home matches. They have scored at least three goals in seven of those games, too, so back BVB, who have kept three clean sheets in five Bundesliga games, to put three past Cologne without conceding.

Borussia Dortmund vs Cologne Predictions

  • Borussia Dortmund are unbeaten in nine home matches, winning eight
  • BVB have scored three or more goals in seven of the nine games in that run
  • Cologne have conceded three goals in two of their three Bundesliga away matches this term

BVB bound to rack up the goals

Borussia Dortmund held their own in last Saturday’s Klassiker, losing only 2-1 to Vincent Kompany’s rampant Bayern Munich, and bounced back with a confident 4-2 win at Copenhagen in the Champions League.

That should have instilled some confidence back into Niko Kovac’s squad and they should return to their brilliant best when hosting Bundesliga rivals Cologne on Saturday.

The visitors have made a strong start, picking up 11 points from seven games, but they lack the overall quality to go toe-to-toe with the Bundesliga’s best.

Cologne could be hit hard in Dortmund

Cologne were beaten 3-1 at Leipzig just last month and they could be hit hard by another German giant on Saturday.

Dortmund are excellent on their own patch, winning eight times in an ongoing nine-match unbeaten run at Signal Iduna Park, and their attack is a huge reason for that sensational streak.

Kovac’s side, led by Guinean goal machine Serhou Guirassy, have scored at least three goals in seven of their last nine home matches and should put Cologne to the sword this weekend.
