Borussia Dortmund vs RB Leipzig Predictions

• RB Leipzig are unbeaten in their last 19 Bundesliga matches.

Dortmund being saved by home form

It has been an unusual start of the season for Dortmund who have struggled to find great consistency, whether playing in domestic or European fixtures.

They thumped Celtic in the Champions League 7-1 before losing 5-2 at Real Madrid, while they have earned just one point in their four Bundesliga away matches and were dumped out of the cup by Wolfsburg in midweek.

There has been little wrong with their home form but a tally of 13 points from eight matches is pretty underwhelming and there looks a strong chance there will be plenty of goals when they entertain RB Leipzig on Saturday.

Strong defence set to be tested

Leipzig beat BvB 4-1 in a reverse fixture in April and they are basking in an unbeaten league run that stretches into last season and their last 19 matches.

The quality of their defending goes a long way to explain that – they have conceded just once in their last six league games – but this looks a week when their rearguard will be severely tested against a team who have scored 12 times in their four league games.

So there is a strong chance we will see more than three successful strikes in this game and it is worth chancing that these two Bundesliga big-hitters will play out a 2-2 draw.
