Bournemouth vs Arsenal Predictions

Bournemouth managed to capitalise on Swansea’s torrid form on Saturday with a well deserved 3-0 hammering of their hosts at the Liberty Stadium, with that victory making it four wins and four losses from their last eight games in the Premier League.

This leaves them in a comfortably looking 10th position in the Premier League, and they have already managed to put a ten point gap between them and the relegation zone. This looks like it could be a promising season for Bournemouth.

The prospect for Tuesday looks less promising though. One of their defeats over the past couple of months did come against Arsenal as they lost 3-1 at the Emirates, and that made it three defeats from three against the Gunners since Bournemouth’s introduction to the Premier League.

Arseanl, meanwhile, kept their Premier League title challenge going with a rather comfortable 2-0 win at home to Crystal Palace, with the first goal from Olivier Giroud being a contender for goal of the season.

This made it five wins and two defeats in their last seven games in all competitions. Away from home they have encountered some problems recently, but 2-1 losses to Everton and Manchester City shouldn’t worry them too much in the grand scheme of things. Prior to that they had won six and drawn two of their eight matches on the road.

This leaves the Gunners 3rd in the Premier League table with three points between them and Liverpool above them. Chelsea are a significant nine points ahead at the top of the pile, whilst Tottenham and Manchester City are only a point behind them.

Giroud may have been the star of the show on Saturday, but throughout this season it’s been Alexis Sanchez grabbing the headlines. The Chilean forward has notched 12 Premier League goals this season and nine of them have come in his nine away days, so backing him to score anytime at 4/5 looks a good choice for our goalscorer predictions.

Bournemouth have had a bit of a mixed bag at home this season. They have managed wins against the likes of Everton, Liverpool, and Leicester but their 3-1 loss to Southampton in December showed the other side of them. They have also lost to Sunderland and Preston at home this season, so they might find it difficult against Arsenal here. They have managed to find the net in all but one of their home games this season though, keeping three clean sheets in the process.

Arsenal have scored in all but one of their trips away in the Premier League too, only keeping two clean sheets. This points towards a Both Teams to Score bet, and at odds of 4/6 I think that’s a good choice to go along with a 2-1 win for Arsenal at 8/1 for my correct score predictions.
