Bradford vs Bristol Rovers Predictions

  • Both teams have scored in four of Bradford’s five home league games this season.
  • Bristol Rovers have scored in four and conceded in all five of their League Two away games of 2021-22.
  • Both teams have scored in nine of the last ten meetings between the clubs.

Bantams and Gas could both find the net

Bradford City remain on the fringe of the playoff race heading into a key run of fixtures in which Saturday’s opponents Bristol Rovers are the only opponent of their next five that are currently below them.

The Bantams have defended well in the last couple of games as Yann Songo’o and Paudie O’Connor have formed a solid partnership at the back. The clean sheet they kept against Rochdale last month was particularly impressive, given Dale had scored three times on each of their visits to Northampton and Port Vale earlier this season.

Derek Adams will demand three points from the visit of Rovers, who have won only once on their travels all season. That was courtesy of a late comeback at Walsall, but Joey Barton’s men suffered the same fate when Swindon won 3-1 at their place next time out.

Rovers don’t back up their winning displays

The pressure was on for the visit of Carlisle United last weekend as the Gas burst into life to win 3-0, but they aren’t known for backing up their good results. The last time Rovers won back-to-back league games was December 2020, so we are cool on their chances of claiming victory this weekend.

We’re quite keen on a both teams to score bet here because Bristol Rovers are yet to keep a clean sheet on their travels, yet have scored in four of their five away days. The stats are just as good from a Bradford point of view, although we can’t be sure City get the two goals we believe they will need to ensure a win.

Striker Andy Cook is going through a dry spell right now (one goal in seven league games) while the creative Charles Vernham is still seeking full match fitness after a spell on the sidelines, so our correct score prediction for this is 1-1.
