Bees to breeze past The Latics

Brentford are coming off the back of an entertaining but well deserved 2-0 win over Wolves in the Premier League this weekend and are now presented with an excellent opportunity to progress into the next round of the League Cup.

Oldham are in disarray both on and off the pitch. Winless in both their last three matches and three of their four away games so far, Latics fans are protesting against the club’s owners. They are yet to win a game in normal time in this competition, progressing via penalty shoot-out wins over Tranmere Rovers and Accrington Stanley respectively.

Thomas Frank is expected to make wholesale changes to his Bees side with summer arrivals Yoane Wissa and Frank Onyeka looking set for starts. Even if Frank does decide to ring the changes, his side should be far too strong for the visitors and we’re expecting Brentford to heap further misery onto the Latics.

Oldham are likely to try and make it a battle and attempt to limit Brentford chances but Frank’s side possesses far superior quality and they won’t be intimidated by the physicality of Oldham. We’re expecting the hosts to utilise their superiority and ease into the next round of the competition.
