      Brighton vs Bristol City Predictions

Bristol City picked up a much needed win on Friday when they beat Nottingham Forest 2-0 at Ashton Gate to move out of the relegation zone with their first home win back in the Championship. It should have given them a real boost coming into this game and will take some of the pressure off it.

They have looked an improved side of late though and that win had been brewing for a while. Prior to that match they’d drawn back-to-back games against Ipswich and Milton Keynes Dons with late goals costing them 3 points on both occasions. They won’t fear a trip to Brighton, a side who that was tipped to be around their level by the bookies in pre-season but there are 15 points and 20 places separating the sides currently.

Brighton keep grinding out results and picked up their 7th win of the season on Saturday with a late winner at Leeds. All of their wins so far have been by just 1 goal though and they failed to beat Cardiff in their last home game, just before the international break.

There is still an awfully long way to go in this season and Seagulls boss Chris Hughton isn’t the type to get carried away. There are no easy games in this league and a game against a re-vitalised Bristol City who are unbeaten in 3 matches won’t be a walk in the park by any means.

City seem to enjoy the underdogs tag and have faired better on the road, losing only 2 of their 5 games. One of those matches was a 1-0 win at title favourites Middlesbrough and the belief that result will have given them should be of use here against the league leaders and they look worth a punt at 10/11 to get something out of this.

It would be a really big ask for them to come here and end Brighton’s unbeaten start though but a score draw is certainly within their grasp. All of Albion’s games have been close affairs so far and this could well be another so consider backing it to finish 1-1 at 11/2.
