      Southampton vs Derby Predictions

Southampton look set to beat Derby at St. Mary’s Stadium on Saturday. The visitors have lost four of their last five away games in the Championship, and Southampton are in good form.

They are two places above Derby in the table, with three points separating the two teams. Both have won more games than they’ve lost this season, with Southampton in sixth place having won 18 and lost ten, while Derby are eighth with 18 wins and 14 defeats.

Southampton kept up their recent winning trend with a 5-1 victory away against Wrexham in their last Championship game. Kuryu Matsuki grabbed the opener in the 12th minute, and four others also notched. This was expected to be a close match according to the pre-game betting, but Southampton were comfortable winners at odds of 6/4.

Southampton have been impressive defensively at home this season, conceding just 14 goals in 19 Championship games – an average of 0.74 goals per game – and keeping six clean sheets in their last eight matches.

They are in excellent form, having gone 13 games unbeaten in the Championship, with nine victories in their last 11. They have won five of their last six home games and are aiming for a fifth successive win.

The goals are flowing for Southampton, who have scored in 18 of their last 20 league games. They have averaged 1.58 goals a game in their 19 Championship games against other top-half teams this season, and have found the net at least twice in five of their last seven matches.

Southampton have won their last three home games, and a 1-0 win looks the best correct-score option. Nine of Derby’s 14 Championship reverses this season have been by a single goal.
