Terriers can extend purple patch

Huddersfield are the bet away at Cambridge United on Friday. The league table doesn’t lie in this instance, with fourth-placed Huddersfield up against a Cambridge side who are 22nd.

Huddersfield are 18 places above Cambridge in the table, with the two sides separated by 19 points. The visitors are fourth with 11 wins from their 19 games, while Cambridge are struggling with four wins and ten defeats.

Huddersfield are in excellent form, having avoided defeat in their last ten league games and winning five of the last seven. In contrast, Cambridge have failed to win six times in their last seven matches.

Cambridge drew 2-2 on Saturday against an in-form Wrexham side who had won four straight League One games which was at least a step up from their recent efforts. They have one win, four draws and one defeat from their last six in the league and this is a difficult test for the hosts.

Huddersfield are on a winning run of two straight League One away games and can make it three at Cambridge.

Huddersfield have been impressive defensively away from home this season, conceding just eight goals in nine games – an average of 0.9 goals per game. Cambridge will find it tough to break down the visitors’ solid backline.

Given Huddersfield’s defensive prowess, and with the visitors in better form than Cambridge, it could be worth taking them to win with a clean sheet.

A 3-0 win for the visitors is an appealing value correct-score option given Cambridge lost by that scoreline to Reading earlier this month.
