Cardiff vs Huddersfield Predictions

Cardiff have been scoring goals for fun at home this season and they should be backed to get the better of Huddersfield on Saturday. Brian Barry-Murphy’s side have netted 19 times in eight games at the Cardiff City Stadium, an average of 2.38 goals per game.

League One leaders Cardiff have ten wins from their 16 games this season, while Huddersfield are eighth having won eight of their 17 matches. There have been 49 games between teams in the top half of the table this season, and 25 (51%) have gone the way of the home team.

Cardiff kept up their recent winning trend with a 3-0 home win over Mansfield last weekend, making it six wins in the eight matches in which they have been odds-on this season. Cardiff restricted Mansfield to one shot on target.

The visitors are enduring a rough spell on the road, having lost five of Huddersfield’s last seven League One away games.

It would be no surprise to see the home side find the net, with Cardiff having scored three or more goals in five of their 16 League One games this season.

The hosts are in fine fettle. Cardiff have enjoyed success in six of their last eight home games in League One, including winning their last three.

The visitors have looked vulnerable in defence. Huddersfield have failed to keep a clean sheet in ten of their last 12 League One games and have conceded 15 goals away from home this season – an average of 1.88 goals per game from eight matches.

Cardiff may be able to edge out Huddersfield in a closely-fought game, with a 2-1 home win the correct-score pick. Ten of Huddersfield’s last 12 League One games have featured over 2.5 goals and three of their seven defeats this season have been by a 2-1 scoreline.
