      Cardiff vs Nottingham Forest Predictions

Forest have been in good form of late but weren’t at their best against Leeds on Sunday. A Nelson Oliveira goal put the East Midlands side ahead but Leeds came back into it in the 2nd Half and grabbed a deserved point through Sam Byram’s excellent strike. While they’d have obviously preferred the win, the point did take Forest’s unbeaten run to 6 matches and they are now 13th, 8 points above the drop-zone but 8 points away from the play-offs.

Cardiff are 4 points better off and one of the sides, Notts Forest will need to overtake to get themselves into play-off contention. The Bluebirds have lost their last two though against Birmingham and MK Dons.

Both those matches were away from home though and they are much stronger on home soil. Russell Slade’s side has lost just once this season at home, winning 7 times and it is the main reason why they are currently in the top 8.

They’ll be glad to get back to the Welsh capital and against a Nottingham Forest side that hasn’t won any of their last 7 away games, surely the value here is backing Cardiff in the Asian Handicap market (0.0) at 1.750.

Although Nottingham Forest are unbeaten in 6 games, it hasn’t been a particularly tough run of fixtures, with 11th placed Reading the highest ranked side they have faced in that run. This will be much tougher and given Cardiff’s home record, they should have enough to edge it and inflict defeat on Forest for the first time in over a month.

Cardiff have scored exactly 2 goals in 6 of their last 10 home games but have been conceding a fair few goals of late too so consider backing Cardiff to win 2-1 at 9/1.
