Both Teams To Score and Over 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Both teams have scored with at least three goals in five of Nice’s last six matches while both teams have scored in Celta Vigo’s last 10 matches, with three of their last five also going over 2.5 goals.

Celta Vigo 2-1

Reason for tip

Nice have lost both of their Europa League games this season 2-1 and that looks like the most likely ouctome in Spain for a team of poor travellers. Celta Vigo have conceded exactly once in all of their home games this season, but can punish a Nice defence that have shipped exactly two goals in four of their last five matches.

Celta Vigo vs Nice Predictions

  • Both teams have scored in Celta Vigo’s last 10 matches
  • Both teams have scored with at least three goals in five of Nice’s last six matches
  • Nice have lost both of their Europa League games this season 2-1

Goals expected in Galicia

Celta Vigo are expected to add to Nice’s Euro woes on Thursday in a match that looks like it should be relatively open and attacking by nature at Balaidos.

The La Liga outfit bounced back from a 2-1 defeat at Stuttgart on Matchday One with a convincing 3-1 win over Green visitors PAOK at the start of the month. Their attacking trio of Iago Aspas, Borja Iglesias and Ferran Jutgla have shown signs of clicking, but they do miss Swedish star Williot Swedberg.

Celta have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last five matches across all competitions and would be higher in La Liga but not for the number of 1-1 draws they have been unable to convert into three points.

Nice need to knuckle down

Nice, meanwhile, have had a nightmare start to their Europa League campaign after back-to-back 2-1 defeats to Roma and Fenerbahçe. Franck Haise’s side have perked up domestically after a 2-2 draw at Monaco and a 3-2 home win over Lyon, but they are not great travellers.

With both teams showing attacking promise but lacking defensive solidity, this fixture looks primed for goals. Celta’s attacking trident might just give them the edge at home too.
