Celtic vs Real Madrid Predictions
- Celtic have scored 29 goals across their first seven games of the season
- Real Madrid have won five games out of five this season
- The visitors have won and conceded in each of their league games this term
- Vinicius has scored in his last three games for Real
Real to defend title
Real Madrid head to Glasgow as they look to defend their Champions League title. The reigning champions tend to start well in this competition, given that only one of the last 27 title-holders have lost their first match of the following season’s competition.
The good omens continue for the visitors, given that Celtic have never won their first match of a campaign in the Champions League across 10 previous attempts, losing eight of those. Expect that run to continue given their difficult opener.
Perfect records clash
Both sides have made perfect starts to the season, with Celtic winning seven from seven this term, scoring 29 goals along the way. Their good record has been boosted by the fact that they were able to skip the Champions League qualifiers, going straight through to the group stage.
The visitors have also won all of their games, claiming four wins from four in La Liga alongside their UEFA Super Cup success. The Spanish champions are out to make it six wins from six this week, but the hosts pose a threat.
Real looking open
While the visitors have made a brilliant start to the season, they’ve had some issues defensively. They’ve conceded in all four of their La Liga wins so far, letting in goals away to Almeria, Celta Vigo and Espanyol so far.
Celtic’s high-scoring start should see them cause problems for Real, but they look outmatched against the European champions. Back Real to win and concede, with the visitors looking good for a 3-1 away win.
Real saw Vinicius Jr put in some impressive displays in their Champions League-winning run last term. The Brazilian is hoping to make a splash at the World Cup too and he’s made a great start, scoring in each of his last three games. Back him to keep that hot-streak up as he looks to top his four-goal haul in this competition last term.
