Central Coast Mariners vs Western Sydney Wanderers Predictions
Central Coast Mariners managed to get their first win since the opening day of the season a couple of weeks ago, but even that wasn’t enough of a confidence boost to get them on the road to recovery.
They have won one, drawn one, and lost six of their last nine matches in the Hyundai A-League, and they have conceded 21 goals on the way.
This highlights the defensive vulnerabilities that have plagued their season so far, and their terrible record leaves them at the bottom of the Hyundai A-League with just nine points from their opening 15 matches.
Western Sydney Wanderers have managed to pick up 27 points from their first 15 outings, a tally which puts them in 2nd position in the A-League.
They are only one point behind league leaders Brisbane Roar, but they also have a game in hand on the leaders, so a win would send them to the top of the table.
But the visitors aren’t in the best of form coming into this match. They have only won one of their last five matches and have lost their last two on the trot.
Despite Central Coast Mariners’ poor form at the back, they are doing well at the other end. They have only failed to score in two of their 15 A-League matches so far this season, but they are yet to keep a clean sheet. In addition to this, seven of their last nine matches have ended with three or more goals scored.
This makes odds of 21/20 for Over 2.5 Goals and Both Teams to Score look excellent value, especially when you consider that the visitors have only failed to score once in their last 12 games as well. I’m also going for a 3-1 Western Sydney Wanderers Win at 11/1.
