Charlton vs Huddersfield Betting Tips

Huddersfield are having a poor season so far and have only scored 3 Championship goals in 6 outings. They were beaten again at the weekend, losing 2-0 at Cardiff and it’s beginning to look a little worrying for them as they are carrying virtually no threat in the final third.

The Addicks came unstuck at home at the weekend against another of the strugglers Rotherham. The game ended 1-1 but in some ways it was a tougher game than this one given Rotherham have at least been scoring goals. Charlton who had been excellent at home prior to that will probably have less to fear from Huddersfield, who are likely to come here and try to keep things tight and hope to frustrate a Charlton side who aren’t among the division’s most clinical in front of goal either.

This certainly doesn’t have the makings of a goal-fest. No games involving Huddersfield in the league so far this term have had more than 2 goals in them. Meanwhile only 2 of Charlton’s 6 have. With Charlton struggling so badly to break down the league’s worst defense at the weekend, you can see this being very tight with few chances and backing there to be under 2.5 goals at 8/11 looks like the value bet here.

If there is to be a winner Charlton certainly look the more likely and will take confidence from their previous home wins against Hull and QPR, both sides who were in the Premier League last season. Huddersfield won’t be as positive as those sides, which may if anything make life a little harder for the Addicks but they should have enough to break through at some point in the game and win 1-0, which you can back to be the case at 13/2.
