      Charlton vs Sheffield Wednesday Predictions

Wednesday drew 0-0 against leaders Brighton in midweek to extend their unbeaten run to 11 matches in all competitions. As well as securing Capital One Cup progress with an impressive 3-0 win against Arsenal they have moved up to 8th in the league and are only a point outside the play-off places now.

Contrast that to Charlton who have lost all of their last 5 matches to nil and haven’t won a game since August. After three successive 3-0 defeats they did at least manage to keep the score down in midweek but a 1-0 loss at fellow strugglers MK Dons was still a damaging defeat and leaves them just 1 place and 1 point off the bottom.
Interim manager Karel Fraeye has failed to turn around the side’s fortunes and there was more bad news in midweek as Johann Berg Gudmundsson limped off to add to their injury struggles.

All in all you have to fancy the visitors to win this game and that is certainly what the formbook suggests. The bookies think so too but you can still get Wednesday at odds against by backing them to win the game at 11/10.
Given Charlton haven’t scored in their last 5 matches and Wednesday have only conceded once in their last five, there is a good chance that any away win will be to nil.

The Owls are fast turning into one of the surprise packages of the season under new boss Carlos Carvalhal and have put in some really excellent displays that suggest they could win this one with a solid 2-0 scoreline and you can back that to be the case at 8/1.
