Liverpool and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Liverpool beat Chelsea 4-1 in January and have won ten of their last 12 games in all competitions. Both teams have scored in each of their last seven games and Chelsea have seen goals at both ends in their last five outings.

Liverpool 4-1

Reason for tip

Liverpool have scored at least four goals in five of their last eight matches and have won by a 4-1 scoreline in three of their last five. This includes a 4-1 victory over Chelsea, which the Blues followed by conceding four times against Wolves.

Mohamed Salah To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Mohamed Salah returned to action last weekend with a goal and an assist from the bench and should be back on Sunday after missing Liverpool’s midweek fixture. The Egyptian has scored 19 goals in 28 matches in all competitions for Liverpool this season.

Chelsea vs Liverpool Predictions

  • Liverpool have won and conceded in five of their last six games.
  • Liverpool have won by a 4-1 scoreline in three of their last five matches.
  • Both teams have scored in Chelsea’s last five matches.

Blues find their feet

Chelsea picked up a valuable point at Manchester City last time out but they could find themselves on the wrong end of a thrashing against a rampant Liverpool outfit when the two sides contest the Carabao Cup final at Wembley.

The Blues, after a sticky season under Mauricio Pochettino, have finally started to pick up results but three unbeaten games may not be enough to dispel memories of the 4-1 thrashing they suffered at Anfield in January.

Rampant Reds running riot

That victory was just another day at the office for a Liverpool side in tremendous form right now. They followed that with a disappointing loss away to Arsenal but they remain top of the Premier League table and contesting on four fronts heading towards the end of February.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have followed that 4-1 win over Chelsea with another two victories by that scoreline in the four fixtures since, although that does throw up some question marks over their defensive performances.

Expect goals galore at Wembley

Both teams have scored in each of the Reds’ last seven games in all competitions and Chelsea have seen both teams score in their last five, so I expect Liverpool to take the win here but fail to keep a clean sheet.

The odds may be long, but I would not be surprised to see another Liverpool masterclass at Wembley. They have scored at least four goals in five of their last eight matches and won by a 4-1 scoreline three times in that period, so I’m putting a small stake on that for my correct score prediction.

Mohamed Salah is the man to watch in the anytime goalscorer market. He missed the midweek thrashing of Luton as a precaution but should be back here and he scored and assisted of the bench last weekend, making it 19 goals in 28 competitive games for Liverpool this season.
