Club Brugge and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Club Brugge beat Inter Milan 4-3 away last week and have won five of their six home matches this term. They should have too much in attack for an inconsistent away side that have been scoring goals and conceding too many. Both Lens and Club Brugge have conceded multiple goals in each of their respective League phase matches so a high-scoring encounter is expected.

Club Brugge 3-2

Reason for tip

A high-scoring clash is on the cards with Club Brugge having lost 3-2 at home to Aston Villa before their 4-3 win at the San Siro last week. Lens have shipped two goals in each of their two Champions League games, but lacked a clinical edge against Sporting last week so they may fall short in a 3-2 defeat.

Nicolo Tresoldi To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Tresoldi has scored four goals in two UCL appearances this term, adding a hat-trick in Milan to his solitary strike in a 3-2 home defeat to Aston Villa.

Belgians on a high after Milan heist

Club Brugge are in good shape to edge a potentially very entertaining Champions League clash with Lens at Jan Breydel Stadium on Wednesday night. Blauw-Zwart pulled off a stunning 4-3 heist at the San Siro last week against Inter Milan and come into this contest a touch fresher than the visitors.

The Belgian outfit thoroughly deserved their victory in Milan as they exploited the space on offer to great effect with their pace and direct play. Some of their defending was not great on the night, however, and there will be some concern about starting Wednesday’s game with Brandon Mechele and Jorne Spillers at the heart of their defence.

Top centre-back Joel Ordonez is still out with a fractured metatarsal, so Mechele will play with a broken nose and Spillers will fill in for only his second Champions League start. what they may lack in defensive stability, Club Brugge compensate for in attack with Nicolo Tresoldi in red-hot form right now.

Tresoldi is in top form

The German striker has scored four goals in two UCL appearances this term, adding a hat-trick in Milan to his solitary strike in a 3-2 home defeat to Aston Villa. Ivan Leko’s side were largely outclassed by the Premier League side but performed much better than some of the Villans’ other recent European victims.

They should have to much pace and penetration for a Lens side that went down 2-0 at home to Sporting Club last week. The Ligue 1 side are inconsistent on the road, although they did overpower Slavia 3-2 in Prague on matchday one.

There should be goals in this one if it runs true to form with the potential for Club Brugge just to edge a 3-2 thriller on the basis of them being fresher because Leko rested six starting stars last weekend.
