Colchester vs Gillingham Predictions

Colchester have enjoyed success in three of their last four home games in League Two and they should be backed to get the victory when Gillingham visit on Saturday.

Gillingham are two places above Colchester in the table, but both teams have won more games than they’ve lost this season. Gillingham, eighth, have won seven and lost four of their 18 games, while Colchester are tenth with seven wins and five defeats.

Colchester maintained their winning habit last weekend, with a 2-0 victory over Cheltenham. The result makes it two wins in the two matches in which Colchester have been odds-on this season.

Scoring has not been an issue for Colchester lately. They have scored at least twice in seven of their last nine League Two games and have averaged 1.88 goals a game in their eight matches against other top-half teams this season.

Colchester are in form, having won six of their last eight League Two matches. They are aiming for a fourth straight success.

Gillingham have only won one of their last nine League Two matches and are without a win in three games. They need to turn things around.

Their defence has been far from watertight of late, with the visitors failing to keep a clean sheet in ten of their last 12 League Two games.

A narrow 1-0 victory for Colchester looks the most likely outcome in the correct-score market. There has been fewer than three goals in five of the last six League Two clashes between these sides, and Gillingham have lost all four of their league games this season by a single goal.
