Columbus Crew vs Montreal Impact Betting Tips & Predictions

Columbus Crew managed to finish 2nd in last season’s MLS Eastern Conference and made it all the way to the MLS Cup Final, where they were defeated by Portland Timbers. Their season so far hasn’t gone quite so well though.

An opening day defeat to MLS Cup holders Portland Timbers set the tone for what has been an awful start to the season. They went on to pick up just two points from their opening five games before finally getting a win against New York City.

They followed their first victory up with another win against Houston Dynamo, but they were brought back down to earth again last weekend as Seattle Sounders dispatched of them to leave them down in 9th position in the MLS Eastern Conference.

Montreal Impact finished just behind Columbus Crew last term, and nine games into the new season they find themselves topping the pile in the Eastern Conference. The three teams below them all have a game in hand on the leaders though, and a loss could see them end the weekend as low as 3rd.

They began their season with back to back wins before suffering back to back losses. They managed consecutive victories again after this, but coming into this game they have lost one and drawn two of their last three matches.

Montreal Impact may be showing some inconsistency, but they are undoubtedly a good team. They have only lost two of their five away days so far this season and will take heart from the four wins they have achieved over Columbus Crew in their last five meetings.

I’m expecting the visitors to get something from this game, so odds of 10/11 for a Montreal Impact Win or Draw Double Chance look good to me. I’m backing it to end all square with a 1-1 correct score prediction though.
