Coventry vs AFC Bournemouth Predictions

  • Under 2.5 goals have been scored in six of Bournemouth’s last eight games.
  • That run includes each of the Cherries’ last three outings, with Scott Parker’s team failing to score in any of those contests.
  • Bournemouth’s 35 goals conceded in 40 games is the best such record in the Championship.
  • Coventry have seen under 2.5 goals scored in six of their last eight home matches.

Bournemouth limping over the line after goalless run

Scott Parker’s Bournemouth are limping to promotion after a run of three games without a win or so much as a goal. The Cherries boast a four-point advantage over third-place Huddersfield, but their two games in hand should be enough for Bournemouth to join Parker’s old club Fulham in the Premier League next term. A trip to the Ricoh to face Coventry, however, could provide a stern test.

Coventry have recorded two impressive wins in their last two outings, delaying Fulham’s promotion with a 3-1 away win before beating Birmingham in a 4-2 thriller. Coventry’s home games, however, have tended to be tight, with six of their last eight at the Ricoh featuring under 2.5 goals, but Mark Robins’ men have only won one of their last five on home soil.

Bournemouth, meanwhile, have recorded back-to-back goalless draws, and have been unconvincing despite only losing one of their last eight matches. Indeed, a tally of just three wins during that sequence may be enough to put punters off backing Parker’s men, and to look for alternative value on the goals markets.

Under 2.5 goals a strong play with solid Bournemouth involved

Bournemouth are one of just three teams in the Championship to have conceded fewer than 40 goals, and have seen under 2.5 goals scored in six of their last eight league matches.

With neither Coventry or Bournemouth being particularly consistent of late, backing fewer than three goals could be a decent play as Parker’s men look to grind their way to promotion. A tense 1-0 away win, meanwhile, could be a decent correct score prediction.
