Newport County Double Chance (Win or Draw)

      Reason for tip

Having endured relegation from League One last season, Crawley’s League Two campaign could have barely started in more miserable fashion following last weekend’s 3-0 defeat away at Grimsby. They may need time to regather their thoughts and Newport are capable of avoiding defeat.

      Draw 1-1

      Reason for tip

Having drawn their opening two competitive games of the season, Newport may be prepared to settle for a similar scenario at the Broadfield Stadium and a 1-1 correct-score appeals.

Crawley Town vs Newport County Predictions

      • Crawley have won only four of their last 14 home league matches
      • Newport have drawn their opening two fixtures in 2025-26
      • Both teams have found the net in seven of the last nine League Two games between these sides

      Exiles could offer stiff resistance

Having endured relegation from League One last season, Crawley’s League Two campaign could have barely started in more miserable fashion following last weekend’s 3-0 defeat away at Grimsby.

Some key players have departed after last season’s drop but manager Scott Lindsey has been busy trying to bolster his squad and the summer overhaul means it could take time for them to hit their stride.

Crawley lost the shot count 20-5 at Grimsby, having only one effort on target, and big improvement will be required if they are to justify their short price at home to Newport.

The Exiles held visiting Notts County to a 1-1 draw in their League Two opener and that was a good starting point given that they failed to win any of their final nine matches last season.

The Welsh side have also played an EFL Cup preliminary round match this term, beating Barnet on penalties following a 2-2 draw, and they are open to plenty of improvement under rookie manager David Hughes.

Crawley are unbeaten in six meetings with Newport but their new-look squad have plenty to prove at present and the Exiles are overpriced to avoid defeat.

Having drawn their opening two games of the new season, Newport may have to settle for a similar scenario at the Broadfield Stadium and a 1-1 correct-score appeals.
