The beauty of football in the lower leagues of England is that any side can upset any of the others on any given day, and the form of Crewe Alexandra of late has proven exactly that point. This weekend they have the opportunity to add another three points to their excellent start to the campaign as they face off against a Cambridge United side who are far from at the peak of their powers at present.

Crewe Alexandra were not expected to be one of the sides who were challenging at the top of the league this season, with most people thinking they would wind up somewhere in mid-table. However, they have started the season in excellent shape, claiming 15 points from their opening seven outings and although the majority of this good work has come thanks to their ability to get a result on the road, there is little doubt that they will be in high spirits ahead of this weekends clash.

Cambridge, on the other hand, have seen their good start to the season quickly start to fade away as they have lost their last four matches in all competitions. Prior to this run the visitors were making a mockery of our expectation that they would struggle, but after being demolished in the Carabao Cup by Championship side Swansea a few weeks ago, the rot looks like it has set in.

The form of the visitors leads us to believe that backing them in any capacity is a bad idea, and it is a belief that is reinforced when we consider the form of the hosts. With this in mind, we think that backing a home win is the safest way to secure a decent profit from this fixture.
