Cyprus to guarantee safety with double over Lithuania

Cyprus face Lithuania in their penultimate UEFA Nations League C matchup on Friday and the hosts could extend Lithuania’s torrid run.

Both teams have struggled in this year’s competition, with Lithuania on zero points and Cyprus on three, thanks to their sole win in the reverse fixture.

Lithuania put up a good fight in that defeat and were unlucky not to get on the scoresheet, generating 1.41 expected goals. However, back on Cypriot soil and knowing that a win would guarantee safety, expect the hosts to put in a strong display.
