Deportivo La Coruna vs Las Palmas Predictions
Las Palmas are the one side at the bottom end of the table who have really risen to the challenge of the fight against the drop in recent weeks. Their 2-1 victory at home to Valencia last weekend had an element of fortune to it but was their 5th victory in the space of 6 league matches and given they had only won 5 games all season prior to that, it was a much needed run of form. As a result they have climbed to 12th place, their best position of the season and with an 8 point cushion on the bottom 3 with only 7 games to go, they are probably only a point or two from definite safety, which would be a fine effort in their first season back in the top flight in over a decade.
Deportivo’s season has rather headed in the opposite direction. They were great in the opening half of the campaign and by Christmas had amassed enough points to all but guarantee there would be no relegation battle for them this season. However they have been very poor in recent months with just 1 victory in their last 17 games in league and cup. On a brighter note that win did come in their last home game although they were dependent on a late own goal to see off bottom club Levante. They also got a good draw away to Celta Vigo in the Galician derby last weekend so perhaps their confidence is returning a little.
Even still just 7 wins from 31 matches this term is a worrying statistic and only Levante have won fewer matches than Depor in La Liga this term. With Las Palmas in fine form and brimming with confidence surely the value here can be found in backing Double Chance – Draw or Las Palmas at 4/5 as they take on the league’s draw specialists.
