Deportivo Ocotal vs Walter Ferretti Predictions
- Deportivo Ocotal have won one of their last 11 matches in all competitions
- Deportivo Ocotal have conceded exactly two goals in each of their last six defeats
- Walter Ferretti have won three of their last four matches
Class difference evident in Ocotal
There looks to be a big class difference between Deportivo Ocotal and Walter Ferretti and the visitors are worth backing to claim maximum points at the Estadio Roy Fernando Bermudez on Sunday.
Ocotal are rock-bottom of the Clausura championship in the Nicaraguan league which has three rounds of the regular season remaining before the play-offs begin.
The wooden spoon holders have had a dismal campaign with only ten points collected from their 15 matches and just two wins on the board.
No team has scored fewer goals than their paltry tally of ten and they have 14 points fewer than visiting Walter Ferretti, who started this round of fixtures in fourth spot and very much in the play-off picture.
Dismal Depor have won only one of their last 11 matches in all competitions and that came late on with an 80th-minute strike to down Chinandega on March 19.
Since then they have claimed just one point from the last 18 available, losing five of their six matches. The only minor positive came in a 1-1 draw at home to fellow strugglers Deportivo Las Sabanas.
Walter Ferretti expected to extend hosts’ misery
All signs point towards a Walter Ferretti win here, and for a correct-score angle look no further than the away team scoring twice. Ocotal have conceded exactly two goals in each of their last six defeats, including in the reverse fixture.
Walter Ferretti were not in great form before that game in March but they have since started to show much better performances in recent weeks, winning three of their last four games. That includes some hugely impressive results such as a 7-0 thrashing of Chinandega and a 4-0 thumping of Real Madriz.
Walter Ferretti did lose their last away game – 2-1 at Diriangen – but they did suffer two red cards in five chaotic minutes in the second half which cost them any chance of a fightback. They have scored exactly two goals in each of their last three away wins, and their last road triumph was a 2-0 win over Las Sabanas, so backing a repeat of that scoreline is in order.
