Dinamo Zagreb vs West Ham United Predictions

  • Dinamo have scored in six of their last seven home games, and in three of their four home European games this season.
  • West Ham have scored 10 goals in four games and have just one clean sheet.
  • The Hammers are unbeaten after four games in the Premier League.

Both teams can score in Zagreb

West Ham have made a strong start to the season in the Premier League and take their unbeaten record to Dinamo Zagreb in their Europa League opener on Thursday.

Croatian champions Dinamo’s season began back in July and they missed out on a place in the Champions League after losing in the final qualifying round to Macedonia’s Sheriff Tiraspol.

The Zagreb club lead the way in their domestic league with 16 points from seven games, and they’re likely to provide the Premier League outfit with a real test on Thursday.

Goals could well be on the cards at the Maksimir as Dinamo have scored in six of their last seven home games.  They have also kept plenty of clean sheets and both teams have only scored in two of those games, but the Hammers have been in good scoring form and managed 10 goals in their first three games before drawing a blank at Southampton last time out.  West Ham have also struggled for clean sheets and their shut-out against Saints was their first of the season.

As mentioned earlier, Dinamo fell short against Sheriff in Champions League qualifying and that suggests West Ham can pick up a win here.  The Croatian outfit were held to a 0-0 draw in the home leg against Tiraspol, having lost away, and also drew with Legia Warsaw in the previous round of qualifiers.  Dinamo did win two qualifiers in Europe earlier in the summer but they were far from convincing in a 2-0 win over Cyprus’ Omonia and a 3-2 win over Icelandic outfit Valur, and they may struggle against Premier League opposition.

The Londoners are unbeaten in their last five games on the road with three wins and two draws and a 2-1 win for the visitors has some appeal in the correct score market.
