Eibar vs Malaga Betting Tips

Eibar had won 4 league games in a row for the first time in the top flight prior to their short trip to Bilbao last weekend which ended in a 5-2 defeat. Their goal threat was again evident though and Borja Bastón will be looking to score in a 6th consecutive league match here and he has scored 2 goals in each of his last 2 starts.

Malaga are also more threatening in an attacking sense now after their awful start to the season. They have successfully managed to add a goal threat without really compromising their strong defensive work and although they have lost their last 2 matches they were both narrow 2-1 defeats in tough games away to Sevilla and at home to Barcelona.

Their overall form is good though and they have moved well clear of danger and into 12th place. They are still 9 points worse off than 6th place Eibar though, who are starting to look like genuine challengers for a place in Europe next season, which would be an incredible achievement for the club.

Goals seem likely here and they have been coming thick and fast in Eibar games of late. There have been at least 2 goals in all of their last 15 matches and their last 5 have served up 26 goals with both teams scoring in all of them. Both teams have scored in all of Malaga’s last 3 as well so backing both teams to net here at 10/11 looks a smart move.

It might not be quite the goal-fest of Eibar’s recent encounters given Malaga are strong at the back and have the 4th best defensive record in the league. Therefore consider backing a 1-1 draw at 5/1 rather than anything much higher scoring.
