Fenerbahce to frustrate slow starting Frankfurt

Eintracht Frankfurt are odds-on favourites to top Group D, but the Germans look opposable against Fenerbahce this Thursday evening based on their poor start to the domestic campaign.

Die Adler have been regulars in this competition over the past few seasons, most notably reaching the semi-finals in 2018/19, and they qualified again after finishing a fine sixth in Bundesliga last term.

But Oliver Glasner’s side simply haven’t got going so far this term, drawing three and losing one of their four Bundesliga outings, while also suffering a tame DFB Pokal exit at the hands of lower league opposition.

Their opponents Fenerbahce are mainstays of European competition, and although the Turks regularly come up short against the biggest names, they’ve reached the knockout stage in three of their last four Europa League appearances.

With five wins and one draw on the board from their six competitive starts this season, Vitor Pereira’s charges will be brimming with confidence, and they have enough quality to disrupt the out of form Germans.

It’s perhaps asking a lot of Fenerbahce to take all three points at Deutsche Bank Park, though they can be backed in the double chance market at odds-against. This should be closer than the bookies think and we’re predicting an entertaining 2-2 draw.
