Empoli should be backed to get a home win over Verona as they attempt to seal their Serie A survival on the final day of the season.

Three points would see the hosts draw level with their visitors on 34 points, which would at least guarantee them a place in a relegation play-off, while they will avoid the drop entirely if they win and either Lecce fail to win at Lazio, or Parma fail to pick up a point at Atalanta.

Their defence has been leaking goals on their travels, with three successive away games without a clean sheet. They have conceded 29 goals in 18 away games this season – an average of 1.61 goals per game.

A narrow 1-0 win for Empoli appeals as the correct score. No Serie A team has had fewer BTTS games than Verona this term, and they have sustained two 1-0 defeats in a row in the league.
