Esbjerg vs Copenhagen Predictions & Betting Tips, Match Previews

Esbjerg were fortunate to remain in the Danish Superliga last season. They finished second from bottom after picking up just 30 points from their 33 league games, a position which would normally result in relegation to the second flight. However, due to a restructuring of the league they were introducing two additional teams, meaning Esbjerg avoided the drop.

Judging by their opening day performance last weekend they will be struggling again this season. They opened the new Superliga season with a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Brondby, a result which made it seven defeats and just one victory in their last eight Superliga matches.

Copenhagen enjoyed another title triumph last season as they finished the season nine points ahead of runners up SonderjyskE to regain the title back from previuos winners Midtjylland.

The beginning of the new campaign has been promising as well. They comfortably beat Lyngby 3-0 in their first league game of the season, with that result being in the middle of a 3-0 Champions League win at Crusaders and a 6-0 hammering of them back in Denmark that has seen them progress in Europe’s elite competition.

Overall, Copenhagen have now won six competitive games on the bounce and won ten of their last 11. Away from home they have won five of their last six as well, losing once.

Meanwhile, Esbjerg have lost four games on the trot at home and have lost by more than a single goal margin in three of them. Six of Copenhagen’s last eight competitive matches have seen them win by more than a single goal too, so I’m expecting a fairly comfortable victory for the visitors on Saturday. My prediction is for a Copenhagen -1.0 Asian Handicap Win at 2.000, and I’m also going for a 2-0 correct score prediction at 11/2.
