• Girona have lost three of their four games against teams currently in La Liga’s top four
• Atletico Madrid are unbeaten in their last eight league fixtures
• Four of Girona’s last seven matches have ended in defeat

Girona look up against it

Girona’s recent form on home soil has been reasonably strong, picking up three wins in four matches, but their results against La Liga’s very best teams have been poor.

Míchel’s side have played four fixtures against the the division’s current top four, and three of those have ended in defeat, including a recent 1-0 loss to Barcelona.

On top of that, they have suffered four reversals in their last seven outings, including being beaten 3-2 by Getafe last weekend.

Atleti looking top cement a top four place

Atletico Madrid meanwhile are now on an eight game unbeaten run in the league, with five of those matches ending in victory.

One of those was a 6-1 mauling dished out to Sevilla last weekend, while their last away game was an impressive 1-1 draw at Real Madrid.

Diego Simeone is also boosted by Angel Correa and Nahuel Molina returning from suspension, and they will be hoping to extend a run of four matches without defeat on the road.

I predict that Atletico Madrid will win this game, with 2-1 my correct score prediction.
