Fulham vs Manchester City Predictions

  • Manchester City have beaten Fulham to nil in each of the teams’ last six meetings.
  • Fulham have failed to score in six of their last eight home assignments.
  • Man City have conceded fewer goals on the road than any other team in the Premier League this season.
  • Man City have won each of their last seven Premier League away games.

Safety still in sight for Fulham

Fulham took a huge step towards ensuring their Premier League survival last weekend with a shock 1-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield, though their chances of taking second unexpected scalp against runaway leaders Manchester City look slim.

The much-improved Cottagers have tasted defeat just twice in their last ten league assignments, though Pep Guardiola’s relentless Citizens are a cut above the rest in the division, and Fulham could struggle to match their visitor’s class.

A loss against City will do little to derail Fulham’s pursuit of safety however, and Scott Parker’s side will still be within swinging distance of 17th spot no matter the result on Saturday.

City bounce back

Manchester City bounced back from their derby day disappointment in typically convincing style on Wednesday evening, when they trounced Southampton 5-2 at the Etihad Stadium.

The Citizens re-established their whopping 14-point lead over United at the top of the Premier League table with their triumph against the Saints, and City need just six more wins from their remaining nine matches to land the title.

Another clean sheet for City?

Man City’s defensive standards have slipped a little since January, though there is every reason to believe that the Citizens can claim a clean sheet along with three points at Craven Cottage this weekend.

City have beaten Fulham to nil in each of the teams’ last six encounters, including the reverse league fixture between the sides this term that finished 2-0 in the table topper’s favour in December.

Incredibly, Pep Guardiola’s champions-elect have conceded just eight times in 13 tests on the road this term overall, and City shut-out their hosts in five of their last eight games on their travels.

Fulham meanwhile, failed to notch in six of their last eight Premier League tussles at home, and City look a good bet to keep them off the scoresheet at Craven Cottage again.

Bettors are advised to back City to win to nil as a result, while a 2-0 correct score prediction matching the outcome of the clash between the teams earlier in the campaign is also favoured.

Fulham injuries and team news

Tom Cairney and Marek Rodak are both out for Fulham, though the Cottagers have a clean bill of health apart from those two absentees.

Manchester City injuries and team news

Pep Guardiola has the luxury of a full complement of players to choose from for Saturday’s game.

The Citizens are expected to rotate a little following their midweek involvement, with Rodri, Raheem Sterling and John Stones likely to return to the XI.
