FC Dallas vs Montreal Impact Betting Tips & Predictions

FC Dallas have been touted as one of the favourites for the MLS Supporters Shield this season, but on last weekends performance I wouldn’t back them. They started out shoddily to say the least against Houston Dynamo in the Texas Derby, and half an hour later the visitors were four goals down. Houston Dynamo added a 5th in the second half and won the game 5-0.

This will undoubtedly have damaged FC Dallas’ confidence, and it puts a real dampener on their opening weekend win against Philadelphia Union. They will just be hoping to bounce back from the humiliating defeat.

Montreal Impact started their season off with a win as well, beating Vancouver Whitecaps 3-2 away from home thanks to a masterclass from Ignacio Piatti. But Impact, unlike their opponents, carried on in the same vein in their second game of the season by beating current Supporters Shield holders New York Red Bulls 3-0, with Ignacio Piatti getting another goal in the process.

Despite the stark contrast between these teams’ most recent results, this one could still be a very close match. FC Dallas are filled with talent, but Impact are coming into the game high on confidence and having netted six times in their first two matches.

I can’t see FC Dallas failing to score again in this one. They are at home and facing a side who shipped two on the opening day of the season, but their defence was torn apart last weekend. FC Dallas have also seen both teams score in eight of their last 11 home matches in the MLS, whilst Montreal Impact have had both teams on the scoresheet in 12 of their last 15 trips away.

This makes odds of 7/10 for Both Teams to Score look very good value for money, and I’m backing that along with a 2-1 win for FC Dallas at 15/2.
