FC Eindhoven vs FC Utrecht Reserves Predictions

FC Eindhoven made it three Eerste Divisie wins on the bounce last Friday with a fabulous 1-3 success at Cambuur, and David Nascimento’s side will be brimming with confidence going into this week’s clash with second bottom Jong Utrecht at Jan Louwers Stadion. Can Blauw-witten justify favouritism to move further up the league standings?

FC Eindhoven endured a miserable start to the season with just nine points gained from their first 13 league matches, but Blauw-witten have remarkably doubled that tally over the last three weeks following consecutive wins against Dordrecht (0-3), Helmond Sport (2-1) and Cambuur (1-3).

Their latest effort was the best of the lot as goals from Marcelo Lopes, Alvin Daniels and Jarno Janssen sealed a fine 1-3 success in Leeuwarden, and it means Eindhoven are now up to 15^th in the table and eight points clear of the bottom four.

There’s a similar gap between Eindhoven and the top half of the table, but that’s undoubtedly where David Nascimento’s men will be aiming now and they can make significant in-roads into that deficit this Friday night against a Jong Utrecht side who have claimed just a single point from their eight away matches this term.

Jong have pulled off a couple of fantastic results at home in recent weeks with last week’s 1-1 draw against leaders Den Bosch consolidating a thrilling 4-3 victory against the Ajax reserves on match day 14, but Robin Pronk’s charges are fairly hapless on the road as their dismal record suggests.

FC Eindhoven have been poor overall at Jan Louwers Stadion with just one win landed in seven outings, but we can surely expect Blauw-witten to improve on that tally now with those recent successes under their belt.

Eindhoven have won three of the four previous meetings between the teams including a 5-2 romp in last season’s corresponding fixture, and we’re backing them to triumph again here with both teams to score.

Jong have managed to score at least once in 11 of their 16 league matches whilst Eindhoven have conceded in 12 of their 16 games, so it’s a highly probable outcome that significantly boosts the hosts’ match betting odds.

Interestingly, Blauw-witten are bang in the mix for the Period 2 table due to their recent form and could force their way into the top three with a victory this Friday. With winnable fixtures to come against RKC and Jong AZ, Eindhoven have a realistic chance of challenging for a Play-off place so they’ll be all out to bank a victory here.
