Feirense vs Santa Clara Predictions

Feirense could move out of the relegation places with victory at home against Santa Clara, but that isn’t going to be easy as the visitors have won both of their last away games in the Primeira Liga. Santa Clara have nine more points on the board than their hosts and sit comfortably in mid table, but a win on Sunday could move the visitors into the top seven and then they can start thinking about challenging for the European places.

Feirense took on bottom side Chaves in midweek and were lucky to come out of the game with a point. This relegation six-pointer really needed to be won by Chaves more than their guests, and after having 62% of the overall possession, seven corners to the visitors five, and twelve shots to Feirense’s two, the hosts should have taken all three points. Feirense will also view this as a missed opportunity, but at the end of the day a draw was more than they really and truly deserved.

Santa Clara struggled at home against another of the teams close to the bottom three, Tondela, with the visitors taking all three points. The game ended goalless and that season Feirense went on to finish third in the table, while Santa Clara ended the campaign three points above the drop zone. With two wins and four defeats from their last six matches Santa Clara head into Sunday’s game as the form favourites ahead of Feirense, who have lost three, drawn two, and won one during that same period. Edinho top scores for the hosts with three goals in the league so far this season, while Rashid leads the way for Santa Clara with five goals in the Primeira Liga.

We’re confident that Santa Clara will win on Sunday, and have backed a final score of 1-0. Santa Clara sit nine points and eight places above Feirense in the Primeira Liga table. The hosts have lost their last two home games in all competitions, while Santa Clara have won their last two away games in the league. Feirense have only won two of their fifteen Primeira Liga games this season and we don’t see their luck changing this weekend.
