Fenerbahce vs Molde Predictions
Molde make the long trip in the knowledge that it is highly unlikely that they’ll be involved in Europe next season. The Norwegian top flight is already at a fairly advanced stage and they are only 7th in it although they did win at the weekend against Sandeford.
Even so, a game against Fenerbahce in Turkey represents a big jump up in class, even from their away goals win against Standard Liege in the play-off round of this competition. They were beaten 3-1 in the away leg of that game and you just feel that they could well be outclassed here given they are not even one of the best teams in Norway at the moment.
Fenerbahce have made an excellent start to the Turkish Super Lig. They are top after 4 games and have won 3 in a row coming into this one including a convincing 3-0 win over Greek side Atromitos in the home 2nd leg of their Europa League Play-off round game.
The Athens club are probably of a similar sort of calibre to Molde and you have to fancy Fenerbahce to win by at more than a single goal. There is certainly value in backing that to be the case at Evens and the Turks will fancy they might have a decent run in the competition especially with Robin Van Persie amongst their likely starters.
With Ajax and Celtic also in the group, the Norwegians will struggle to get much on the road and lack the sort of quality needed to test sides of this ilk. Therefore this should be a comfortable night for the Turks who have only conceded twice in their last 5 matches so a solid 2-0 home wins looks worth backing at 6/1.
