Feyenoord vs Vitesse Predictions
Goals haven’t been a problem so far for Feyenoord. They’ve scored five in two games beating FC Utrecht 3-2 in an entertaining opener, before pulling off an effective and relatively comfortable 2-0 away victory against Cambuur.
Dirk Kuyt has scored a pair of penalties, while Colin Kazim-Richards and Michiel Kramer have also got on the scoresheet for the Rotterdam-based club. There is a real buzz around the club this season with elevated expectations and a real belief that this squad can take advantage of perceived frailties in Ajax and PSV.
Feyenoord don’t have a bad defence on paper, but they play their football with such abandon and aggression, it’s inevitable that they will concede a few goals.
Vitesse didn’t show much to English fans when they were pushed aside by Southampton in the Europa League. However, after a good 2014-15 Dutch Eredivisie campaign, they’ve made a strong start to 2015-16. A 1-1 draw with Willem II is a decent result and they dominated Roda JC in their second game.
They are a club that can look extremely ordinary and exceptional. Crucial to the side’s tactical approach is getting the ball into the feet of the team’s front three, which generally features Brown, Dauda and Rashica.
This game will be wide open and there should be more than a fair share of goals in these 90 minutes. Our betting tips have to favour Feyenoord in that situation. Yes, Vitesse has the power to get at Feyenoord and they are a good team, but the title contenders will equally get their chances and they will fancy their chances on their home turf facing just about any side not called Ajax or PSV this season.
The odds are not far off even on a Feyenoord win in this game. We fully expect Vitesse to get on the scoresheet, but they won’t outscore Kuyt and his teammates.
