FH vs Fjolnir Betting Tips & Predictions

FH pipped Breidablik to the Urvalsdeild title last season by two points, but the beginning of this campaign has been a bit of a mixed bag. They were knocked out of the Icelandic League Cup on penalties in the quarter final stages at the beginning of April and followed this up with another penalty defeat, this time against Valur in the Icelandic Super Cup after a thrilling 3-3 draw after extra time.

Coming into the new league season on the back of two cup defeats isn’t the best start, but they managed to win their two opening matches fairly comfortably. These two fixtures were expected to be comfortable for the champions as they came face to face with newly promoted Throttur and then IA, but their first major hurdle was KR, who finished 3rd in last season’s Urvalsdeild. They fell at this hurdle, losing 1-0 to the hosts.

Fjolnir are another of the mid-table sides that FH should have no trouble dealing with, and like their opponents they are also coming into this game having lost their last match 1-0. Their defeat came against IA after they beat Valur and IBV in their opening two matches.

This is a pretty good start to the league campaign from Fjolnir, and it leaves them level on points with FH coming into this clash and within three points of the top spot. It’s unlikely that they can leapfrog top of the table Stjarnan though, as the leaders have already racked up an impressive +9 goal difference.

FH have won their last seven matches on the trot at home, and all but one of these have had at least three goals scored in them. The home side have netted a very impressive 18 goals during this run.

The visitors Fjolnir have lost four of their last seven trips away from home and conceded 13 times in the process, resulting in five of the matches having at least two goals scored. This makes me look towards Over 2.5 Goals at 3/5, along with a 3-1 correct score prediction at 12/1.
