Under 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Fluminense’s five Club World Cup games have averaged just 1.69 expected goals and 7.4 shots on target, with three of these five games going under 2.5 goals. They’re facing a Chelsea side that limited fellow Brazilian club Palmeiras to just two attempts in target in their quarter-final.

Chelsea 1-0

Reason for tip

Fluminense have failed to score in two of their five Club World Cup games and were fortunate to net twice from just three shots on target against Al Hilal, while Chelsea limited Palmeiras to just two shots on target last time out.

Fluminense vs Chelsea Predictions

  • Fluminense’s five Club World Cup games have averaged just 1.69 expected goals and 7.4 shots on target.
  • Chelsea limited another Brazilian club, Palmeiras, to just two shots on target in their quarter-final.
  • Fluminense have failed to score in two of their five matches.

Fluzao eye historic final

Fluminense ended Al Hilal’s stunning Club World Cup run on Friday to book their place in the semi-final at the MetLife Stadium, but their own dream could come to an end in a tight affair against Chelsea.

The Brazilian side scored their two goals from just three shots on target, with the quarter-final ending with a total of seven shots on target and 1.57 expected goals.

Only 37 shots on target have been recorded across Fluminense’s five Club World Cup games, and they have averaged a total of 1.69 expected goals.

Blues backed to edge victory

Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Palmeiras was a tense affair, too, with Enzo Maresca’s side limiting the Brazilian side to 0.21 expected goals and two shots on target.

The Blues were hardly free-flowing in their own attack, though, and I’m backing another low-scoring match in New Jersey.

Under 2.5 goals has landed in three of Fluminense’s five Club World Cup games, and that looks a solid bet on Tuesday.

I do think Chelsea will get the job done, though. They were unfortunate to concede against Palmeiras last time out, while Fluminense were arguably second best against Al Hilal and have failed to score twice in this competition, so a nervy 1-0 win for the Blues appeals in the correct score market.
