Forest Green Rovers vs Carlisle Predictions
- None of Forest Green’s last four games have included three or more goals
- 13 of Carlisle’s 16 games under Keith Millen have contained two goals or fewer
- Carlisle are unbeaten in their last five League Two fixtures
Forest Green still top – but a little inconsistent
They may not be losing too many games, but Rovers are currently struggling to put together back-to-back wins, and have in fact failed to do so since the end of November.
Rob Edwards’ side have however been keeping clean sheets, managing three in a row at the New Lawn, with none of their last four games including three or more goals.
League Two’s pacesetters are in fact incredibly strong on home soil, suffering just two defeats in 13 outings, the third best record in the division.
Keith Millen working his magic
The change of management at Carlisle has had quite the effect, with United coming into this fixture unbeaten in five League Two games and having pulled away from the relegation zone.
Keith Millen has built that form by making his side solid in defence. They have conceded just two in their last seven league outings, keeping five clean sheets in the process, compared to seven conceded in his first four in charge.
That means there have not been many goals scored at all in Carlisle fixtures, as the Cumbrians are pretty blunt in attack, with only three of their last fifteen games including three or more goals.
Given that, I think Forest Green might find it difficult to break down their visitors, so predict there will be fewer than three goals in the match, selecting 1-1 as a correct score prediction.
