Goals on the cards at the Stade de France

Portugal drew an international friendly with rivals Spain 0-0 in midweek but when they travel to Paris to face France in the Nations League, the goals could start to flow.

Both sides have 100 per cent records in the competition so far, each seeing off Sweden and Croatia respectively, and they have also both seen seven goals across their first two assignments.

France beat Croatia 4-2 last month in a repeat of the 2018 World Cup before emphasising their attacking quality in a 7-1 demolition of Ukraine in which Olivier Giroud moved up to second in their overall scoring charts with a brace.

Portugal have netted in each of their last five aways, scoring 14 goals in total and with the attacking depth at France’s disposal this could be a high-scorer – we predict both teams to score and over 2.5 goals. In terms of a correct score prediction, these two sides could be difficult to separate so 2-2 could be the way to go.
