On-song Osimhen is to be feared 

Victor Osimhen’s return to Galatasaray colours after the Africa Cup of Nations should bolster the Turkish champions’ chances of taking something from the visit of Atletico Madrid in the Champions League this week.

Osimhen was in deadly form for Nigeria in Morocco, scoring four goals in the tournament. The former Napoli hitman bagged nine goals in his last nine appearances for Galatasaray too, including a hat-trick at Ajax and a brace at home to Bodo/Glimt in this competition.

His presence should lift his teammates, who suffered their first defeat since early November last week in the Turkish Super Cup, and the fans at RAMS Park. The atmosphere there can be pretty intimidating, although it will probably not affect an experienced Atleti side that won 3-2 at PSV Eindhoven on Matchday Six.

Diego Simeone’s side were left hanging on in that match as PSV, who had five big chances to score, rallied from a 3-1 deficit. Goals are expected in this game with Atleti’s Champions League results speaking volumes about their strengths and weaknesses in both boxes.
