Gazalec Ajaccio vs Monaco Predictions
Four games into their first Ligue 1 season and Gazalec Ajaccio find themselves firmly rooted to the bottom of the table. Defeats against PSG, Angers and Lille are probably less the concern, rather their biggest challenge has been finding the back of the net – which they are yet to do once in 2015-16.
It’s a somewhat remarkable statistics, but the truth is that the way Gazalec Ajaccio play, they rarely look like a team capable of racking up goals. The flow of their attacks all too often looks toothless. It’ll be interesting to see whether this coaching staff has reviewed the way they set their team up. Even setting aside a tough encounter against Monaco, a run of games against Guingamp, Caen and Toulouse represents an important part of this team’s schedule.
Meanwhile, Monaco entered the international break on a sour note after being well-beaten on their own turf by PSG. The concern will be that there is a gulf between them and the defending champions, but a bigger concern for Monaco right now is ensuring that they assume their place in Ligue 1’s top three.
They dominated the run of play against Lille and Toulouse, but could only come away with draws. It still feels like just a matter of time before the wins start racking up, but there’s no time like the present for Monaco.
Stephan El Shaarawy has still yet to seriously make his impact up front and it’ll be interesting to see how a young midfield lines up after some juggling through the first few contests.
Three Reasons for Betting Tips
1. Fresh Monaco will want win
Some thinking will have been done by players and coaching staff alike over the course of the international break. Monaco will come out a little more determined for this match-up and perhaps just with that little bit of extra clinical edge, which is probably what they have just been missing.
2. Lack of goal-scoring threat from Gazalec Ajaccio
It’s not just their lack of goals, but the lack of the threat that damages our faith in Gazalec Ajaccio. Perhaps they will show something new in this game, but making a good start is usually important for newly promoted sides and they can’t afford to go too long without scoring goals or picking up points.
3. Odds are strong
Monaco to win comes in at near even odds. Their failure to put games away has probably damaged the bookmakers faith in them, but we still like them to take the three points in this one.
