Gazalec Ajaccio vs Rennes Predictions
Gazelec Ajaccio achieved something in their 2-1 loss to Guingamp at the weekend. They scored their first goal in Ligue 1 football this season. They have just one draw and five defeats from their opening six games and the newly-promoted side is finding life pretty difficult in the top flight.
In general, manager Thierry Laurey won’t be too disappointed with the defensive performances put together by his side so far this season. Still, they need to find a way to put some points next to their name in the Ligue 1 table before they slip too far behind the competition.
The season could hardly have started much better for Rennes. In fact, they’ve already far exceeded most preseason expectations. They’re currently a surprising second place in Ligue 1 after winning four of their first six games. They’ve beaten some decent teams and Rennes are a team that is capable of getting men forward and scoring goals. So far in 2015-16, they are tied with the second most goals among Ligue 1 teams, behind only Marseille.
Three Reasons for Betting Tips
1. Odds are generous towards Gazelec Ajaccio
Considering they’ve lost five of their first six games, have scored just one goal and picked up only an opening weekend 0-0 draw with fellow strugglers Troyes, we think entering this game as only slight underdogs is pretty generous for Ajaccio. We like the money gaining opportunity from betting on Rennes.
2. Rennes are the real deal
Ok, maybe they’re not a second place team or a Ligue 1 title contender. However, they have a nicely balanced squad, some young developing players coming into their own and there just seems to be an opportunity in this league right now. Watch out for them to have a strong 2015-16 campaign.
3. No goals for Gazelec
If you can’t score, how do you expect to get results? Getting one against Guingamp proves very little there…
