Barcelona To Win To Nil

Reason for tip

Barca conceded only 11 goals across their first 33 games last term and they kept a clean sheet in 68% of their La Liga outings. The Spanish giants meet a Getafe side who scored in just one of their meetings at home with the top six, so back an away win to nil.

Barcelona 3-0

Reason for tip

A Barca side boosted by the arrival of Ilkay Gundogan should run riot in the season opener. Robert Lewandowski will be supported by La Masia graduates Gavi and Pedri, while winger Abde Ezzalzouli is one to watch going forward. With Getafe struggling against the top sides last term, back a 3-0 win.

Getafe vs Barcelona Predictions

  • Barca kept a clean sheet in 68% of their La Liga games last term
  • The Catalans conceded 11 goals across their first 33 games of the campaign
  • Getafe failed to score at home to five of the top six last season

Barca ready for title defence

Barcelona have won their opening game in 12 of the last 14 La Liga seasons and they head into this campaign hoping for another bright start as they look to retain the Spanish title.

The Catalans were once again sweating over the registration of their summer signings, but they look to have manoeuvred into a position where the likes of Ilkay Gundogan can feature. With new additions coming in, Barca will hope to build on the strengths which led them to the Spanish title in May.

Barca look solid again

Defence usually isn’t the first concern of a Barca boss, but last season Xavi’s side were incredible at the back. Barca shipped 20 goals in their 38 games and that number was inflated by their early title success. The Catalans conceded nine of those 20 after racing into a 4-0 lead over Espanyol which all but guaranteed the title.

The visitors kept a clean sheet in 68% of their La Liga games and won 61% of them to nil, while they meet a Getafe side who failed to score at home to any of the top three, drawing a blank to five of the top six.

Another blunt evening looms for the hosts, with Barca coming into this looking ready for another dominant campaign. Back them to secure a win to nil against Getafe to start their title defence.
