When you’re desperate for points in your relegation battle and have won only three of your last 13 games, the last team you want to be facing is a wounded Barcelona.

That is the fate that befalls Getafe though, who finished match day 28 just three points clear of the bottom three after a 2-0 defeat away to Real Sociedad.

Quique Sánchez Flores’ side have now failed to score in their last two outings, as they have in three of their last ten fixtures on home soil, a run that includes three defeats.

On top of that, they have now won just one of their nine games against teams currently in the top six, failing to score in half a dozen of those ties.

Barca desperate to bounce back

Barcelona on the other hand have had a little stumble of late, suffering a humiliating 4-0 defeat to Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey, before drawing 0-0 with Girona last weekend.

That was only the second time Xavi’s side have failed to score in La Liga since the opening day of the season, while 19 of their 23 victories have been accompanied by a clean sheet.

Indeed, that Catalan side have the best defence in the division, conceding just nine times in 28 matches, and they will be confident of another shut-out against one of the top-flight’s most impotent attacks.

I predict that Barcelona will win this game to nil, with 1-0 my correct score prediction.
